"Riesling - the King of grapes!" David Brocklehurst, Winemaker
Wine: Still White
Grape Variety: 100% Riesling
Body: Light
Sweetness: Off-Dry
Alcohol: 8%
Character: Delicate and fruity
Aromas: Apple, peach
Flavours: Apple, pear, Cirus
Style: Inspired by the Rieslings of Mosel
Food Pairing: Remarkably Versatile, great with spicy dishes
Tasting notes: An experimental tiny batch made in the style of a German Riesling by stopping the ferment through chilling. This results in an off-dry style where the sweetness is perfectly balanced by the grapes naturally high acidity. This wine displays restrained apple and peach characters on the nose. The palate shows delicate citrus fruit with a long refreshing finish.
Winemakers notes: English grown Riesling harvested at the same levels as a Mosel Spatlese [late harvest]. Typically such a small amount we would usually blend this away but being my favourite variety I was interested how a 100% Riesling would look. So despite having very limited tank space [almost running out!] we were able to keep it seperate.
