Grape variety: Siegerrebe, Schönburger, Würzer, Huxelrebe
Tasting notes: Clear, very pale lemon green in colour, the wine shows intense, perfumed aromas of rose petal, Turkish delight and citrus zest. Despite being bone dry, the wine displays excellent fruit and a great natural sweetness. It has good weight in the mouth and a long tangy finish with a slight suggestion of Mediterranean herbs.
Food pairing: A versatile and food friendly wine, perfectly suited to a range of cuisines, fatty meats and lightly spiced meals. Serve at 12 degrees.
Winemaker’s notes: From early on, it was clear to see the Trevannion showed great potential in 2014 as the grapes were powerful and aromatic. Good levels of ripeness were shown in all varietals used in this year. Each varietal was pressed separately and fermented at a cool temperature to maintain the rich, spicy, fruit aromas found in the varietals. Shortly after fermentation, the blend was made to keep the richness of aroma, whilst also maintaining the typical style of our Trevannion blend. The wine was aged in tank with frequent lees stirring before being bottled.
