Pinot Noir 2016
Grape variety: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: A youthful, fruity, fresh and easy drinking style of pinot noir. As is typical of the varietal it is light brick red in colour with medium body and velvety tannins.
Food pairing: A versatile wine for food pairing. Enjoy a chilled glass with charcuterie or soft cheeses. The gentle tannins will compliment any light meats and the fruity nature of the Pinot Noir would pair well with al fresco dining.
Winemaker's notes: This Pinot Noir was picked with exceptional levels of ripeness and fantastic fruit flavours. The grapes were crushed into open topped fermenters where they fermented at relatively cool temperatures to keep the wine fresh and avoid over extraction. During fermentation, the cap was gently punched down twice daily, with keen eye to the level of extraction from the fruit. After fermentation, the cap was gently pressed and the wine was stored for a short time in stainless steel tanks before being bottled.
