"The wine is very elegant with subtle gooseberry, nettle and elderflower aromas, with some floral and passion fruit notes. The palate is fine and restrained with gentle acidity and good balance. A great match with a variety of seafood and foraged ingredients such as samphire and nettles..."

Wine: Still White
Grape Variety: Madeleine Angevine
Character: Youthful and aromatic similar to a Vinho Verde.
Aromas: Apple, peach, hedgerow flowers
Flavours: Crisp green apples, citrus
Food Pairing: The perfect aperitif or try with tapas
Vinification: Cool fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness. The resulting wine was kept on the lees for 6 months before being bottled in May 2021, preserving the natural spritz left from fermentation.
Winemakers Notes: As always with our Madeleine our philosophy is to allow the varietal to express the vintage. 2020 seems to provided the Madeleine with perfect conditions, the resulting wine is bone dry crisp, but with wonderful freshness youthful acidity and a slight spritz. Serve at 8-10c.
