Bacchus 2018
Knightor Bacchus 2018
Vinification: Bacchus is typically an expressive, extroverted variety with strong aromas. Our 2018 Bacchus is no exception. The grapes were picked by hand, the fruit was very clean and displayed good ripeness levels in both sugars and flavours. Following whole bunch pressing the grapes, were fermented at a cool temperature to preserve the fresh, fruit forward aromas. After a short period of lees ageing, the wine was filtered and bottled.
Winemaker’s notes: Bacchus is typically one of the most expressive varieties grown in the U.K. often compared to Sauvignon Blanc. The warm summer and autumn has resulted in a bacchus displaying an array of tropical fruit characters, pineapple, passionfruit, kiwi along with the typical fresh cut grass and tomato leaf aromas. The palate is dry and refreshing perfect for either drinking on its own or with food. Serve at 8-10°c. A great food friendly wine to enjoy with seafood or vegetarian cuisines.
