Remember holidays to Cornwall and special memories with this duo of wine and chocolate full of beautiful flavours from Cornwall. Red wine and chocolate is always a winner and we have paired our Portscatho Vineyard Pinot Noir Précoce 2018 with beautiful Chocolarder Gorse Flower chocolate.
Our Portscatho Vineyard Pinot Noir Précoce is made using only grapes grown at our Portscatho vineyard. One of the stand outs of the 2018 vintage, this Pinot Noir Précoce displays slightly different characters to Pinot Noir but both are light wines. It is fruit forward showing morello cherry, wild strawberry and a slight smokiness on the nose. The palate is medium bodied and soft showing ample juicy red berry characters, a very moreish wine.
Chocolarder pick gorse flower by hand in late spring from the prickly hedgerows that line the rugged Cornish coastal path. These are then steeped in cocoa butter pressed from their own beans allowing the flowers to impart their heady warm coconut scent to the milk chocolate for a unique flavour.
